Council Round-up Will
Be Held In Scotland Neck
The East Carolina Council, Boy
Scouts of America, will hold a
Council Round-Up for the north
ern half of the Council at Scot
land Neck during the week end of
October 4, 5 and 6 under the su
pervision of Louis Alexander, prin
cipal of the Scotland Neck High
School and Camping and Activi
ties chairman for the newly creat
ed Roanoke District.
Scouts from ten northern dis
tricts of the Council will partici
pate in the Round-Up, among
these will be scouts from Halifax,
Northampton, Hertford, Bertie,
Edgecomb, Wilson and Nash.
This will be the first time that
the Council has undertaken to hold
a fall meeting of Scouts of the
Council. The fact that the spring
Camporee was rained out and the
expressed desire of many Scout
masters to have a fall gathering
of Scouts led the officials of the
Council to plan the Fall Round
Up.
The Round-Up will be different
from any former activity held by
the Council in that all activities
will be engaged in on a troop
basis, rather than the usual Pa
tril basis. Thus each unit will work
as a complete unit rather than
each partol as was done at the

Camporee
Since the plans for the Round
Up will be different from former
activities the Council will hold a
briefing session for adult and
junior leaders somewhere in the
Council on the evening of Sept
ember 30, for the purpose of as
sisting the leadership in a better
understanding of the activities that
will be held at the Round-Up.
The Council Round-Up will tie in
with the National Round-Up that
is being held in the fall through
out the United States.
