An Interview With The IMew D. E. R. A. Representatives WHAT IS D. E. R. A.? The Du Pont Employees’ Recreation Association is an organization of employees, governed and administer ed by representatives elected by employees from each area of the plant. In the last meeting of the elected D. E. R. A. repre sentatives, FOTOFAX asked these questions: 0- How are your representatives elected? A. By majority vote in each plant area to be repre sented. 0- What do these representatives do? A. They represent their areas at the meetings by bringing forth people’s ideas, suggestions and opinions. Also they help plan D. E. R. A. spon sored events, set up and help administer D. E. R. A. policies and rules, and administer the use of the Guion property and hunting and fish ing areas.- 0- What does D. E. R. A. do for the employees? A. Provides D. E. R. A. sponsored events through out the year (dances, childrens’ Easter Egg Hunt and Christmas Party, Annual Picnic participation). In addition, this organization stocks the streams with fish and provides wildlife forage. 0- Where does D. E. R. A. get the money for these things? A. From membership cards, hunting and fishing fees, and currently from company donations. Before the new cafeteria, we received frunds from the vending machines. Now we depend upon the com pany to subsidize our activities; at least in part. 0- Why should an employee join D. E. R. A.? A. To be included in all D. E. R. A. activities and to , be eligible for the use of D. E. R. A. administered property. (Continued on page 12) Wanted D. E. R. A. MEMBERS Rewards!
