FOTOFAX NOVEMBER, 1976 LONG SERVICE- ANNIVERSARIES Fotofax salutes 16 employees who recently celebrated 25 or more years of service with Du Pont. The group service total is 425 years! Their youthful appearance, their background experiences with Du Pont, and what they have to say after umpteen years of service are as follows: fit. Elliot "Jake" F. Jaquith, Jr., Process Control, Senior process engineer, cele brates 25 years of service with Du Pont this year. He received his MS in applied science at Rutgers. Jake began working with Du Pont in 1951 at the Parlin plant and moved in 1962 to the Brevard Plant. He states, "I developed my first roll of photographic film at the age of eight. I continued to work in commercial and journalistic photography in high school and college. Employment in the Du Pont Photo Products Dept, gave me the oppor tunity to continue my hobby while work ing. Looking back, Du Pont has been a fine place to work." * William "Bill" G. Dechant, Area Super visor, Plant Engineering, earned his MS in electrical engineering at VA Polytechnical Institute. In 1951, he began working with Du Pont at the Chambers Works. He also worked at Wilmington and at the Seaford Plant before coming to Brevard in 1959. After 25 years of service. Bill says, "I appreciate the wide and varied ^experiences I've had with Du Pont. I don't feel that I could have gotten this with any other company I might have gone with." * "George" D. Hinkle, Maintenance Co ordinator, Coating, attended the U. of Delaware for one year. He started working with Du Pont at Newport, was at Wilming ton for 18 years, and came to Brevard in 1969. Of his 25 years with Du Pont, George says, "I've really enjoyed the interesting work and the feeling of security that I've had working for Du Pont. You can't beat it." * Robert "Bob" W. Nottorf, Research Fellow, celebrates 30 years of service with Du Pont this year. Bob earned his PhD in physical chemistry from Iowa State U. He began with Du Pont at Parlin and later moved wBrevard. Looking back, he says, "I have found working for Du Pont challenging - Du Pont is big enough so there is always a bigger job to be done if one can do it; rewarding - I've felt Du Pont has tried to reward employees fairly for their productivity and worth to the Company; generally satisfying — Du Pont's benefits have enabled me to enjoy life with a reasonable feeling of security." Gustave "Gus" W. Moessen, Research Associate, earned his PhD at Penn State. He began working for Du Pont in 1951 at Parlin and transferred to Brevard in 1963. Celebrating 25 years of service with Du Pont, Gus states, "Working for Du Pont has been interesting and rewarding. There is great personal satisfaction in following the development of a new or improved product from a laboratory experiment to a full scale commercial product. My greatest thrill was assisting in the start-up of the Brevard Plant and participating in the rapid growth of a major manufacturing facility." * "Frank" J. Guest, Mechanical Associate, attended Lehigh University. In his 25 years of service to Du Pont he has worked at Wilmington, Newport, Parlin, and Bre vard. Frank says, "I like to build and Du Pont has always given me the opportunity to design, build and develop many interest ing machines. I hope Du Pont continues to supply challenging opportunities so that all who want work can have as much fun as I'm having working for Du Pont." "Don" Donald L. Lewis who retired this year is also a member of the 25 year club. See Retirement article. * James "Jim" Robert Cabe, Control Mechanic, has been with Du Pont for 25 years. He graduated from Franklin High in Franklin, N. C. and in 1951 began work ing at the Savannah River Plant. In 1957 he transferred to Brevard. In reflection, Jim says, "I think the fringe benefits here at Du Pont are good and there is with me a secure feeling in knowing that I will have a regular pay check." * William "Bill" Morrill, Accounting Su perintendent, earned his BS in B.A. from Boston University. He began his career with Du Pont at Parlin and worked at the Savannah River Plant, Rochester, and Wilmington before coming to Brevard in 1968. After 30 years of service. Bill says, "I have always been proud that I work for a fine company like Du Pont. It has been most rewarding to be a part of the dynamic progress at Brevard in the last eight years. It's been great and may it continue."
