Page Six “HIGH” LIP'E, NOVPiMBER 28, 1921 FACULTY SKIPS PLAYFULLY AROUND TWINKLING STARS IN A MIGHTY STRUGGLE (Continued from Page 1) eleventli liour conference it was decided that the youngster was too frail and alto gether too inexperienced to start the game. It was a very generous decision on the part of the coaches, for it would have been very pitiful to have sacrificed such a young and promising lad on the altar of such naughty sport. lie was allowed to referee on eon dition that he would not get near enough the play to be jostled by the rude boys. This he promised and did. After the play started the fans v/ere not permitted to see any of the game on ac count of the great clouds of dust that were raised by the players. It was learned later that the score at the end of the game stood 6 to 0 in favor of the humidified oxygen slingers. Impartial spectators expr(;ssed the opinion that the success of the faculty lay in the fact tliat Quarterback Giles call ed the Ford and Franklin Coupe signals very fiaMpiently. Being an ardent disciple of mental telepathy and “Power of Inspira- tioiF', nothing could stop him Avhen these signals were called. Some of the Greensboro Highs were won dering last night just when Bill Ogburn and Max Barnliardt, who attended the game in High Point yesterday, would reach liome. It seems that Bill and Max waxed enthusiastic over Greensboro’s chances to win. In fact so “pepped up" and confi dent were they tliat they declared they would “walk home if Greensboro lost.’’ Well, Greensboro lost and Bill and Max are supposed to be on “their way.” CHARLOTTE SUCCUMBS TO EAST GREENSBORO TEAM IN CHAMPIONSHIP GAME (Continued from Page 1) Greensboro had the ball on Charlotte’s ter ritory again. Daniel carried it over with ease on the next play. He kicked goal. Then Charlotte resorted to her aerial at tack. One long pass brought her to Greens boro’s 44-yd. line, another was incomplete and still another was intercepted by P. Transou- The team made one 1st down and then the ball was snapped baek for the next play; while the ball was still in the air the whistle blew but the play had to be completed so P. Transou broke through the line and dashed 65 yards for the final touchdowm, the prettiest play of the day. Daniel kicked goal. The line-up: Greensboro: Position: Charlotte: Sellars Crayton 1. e.
