PROSPECTIVE BRIDES HONORED BY TEACHERS WITH BREAKFAST (Continued from page one) was a cleverly improvised altar with a miniature bride and groom standing be fore it. At the ringing of the 8:30 bell the meeting was adjourned, each member of the faculty declaring that he preferred the cafeteria at 7:30 o’clock in the morn ing to room 106, the usual scene of such gatherings, after the heat and stress of the day. PARK AND EDWARDS ENTERTAIN STUDENTS (Continued from page one) third winners, respectively. Mf. Park urged every boy in school to enter. “If you don’t get the prize, you will at least have the practice,” he said. After Mr. Parks’ talk Mr. Edwards gave a short talk on “Opportunity.” He read several poems written by Bealey, Shakespeare and Malone. Mr. Edwards especially liked Malone’s poem and ad vised every student in High School to try to live up to it. After reading these poems the speaker told a short story about a poet who had spent his life writing poems that were unreal. Finally, he realized that his time was past and that he had not expressed his real feelings. When the realization came to him that he had contributed nothing to the world’s poetry, he wrote the following lines to be put on his tombstone: “Pve worked by the light of the moon,. And slept by the light of the sun; Pve lived a life of going to do. And died with nothing done.” O. HENRY Listen Boy si If you like our service tell your friends.
