What
Will I Be
Many of you young men in G.
H. S. will determine this year what
your future business or profession
will be, will plan your studies ac
cordingly and will “follow-through”
in college.
While you are making these de
cisions, consider the Insurance Pro
fession, a vocation that provides a
business life-time of pleasant and
profitable work. Interesting and
absorbing. Insurance places you at
the head of your own business with
opportunities limited only by your
individual efforts.
We always want young men in
our organization, and any of our
officers will be glad to talk to you
any time regarding the opportuni
ties offered as a Pilot representa
tive.

Old Farmer—That’s fine, sir. I’ll fetch

Tub Ballard—Gosh, I’m full up to my

C. Lambert—Right, and from your
neck up you’re empty.
Sunday morning a minister preached a
strong sermon on temperance, telling his
congregation that if he had his way he
would pour all strong drink into the
river.
The closing hymn was, “Shall We Gath
er at the River?”
CAST OF SENIOR PLAY
REHEARSE DILIGENTLY
(Continued from page one)
spending no little time consulting Mr.
Augustin, of the Stock Company, and
other theatrical men to get the best pos
sible light and set effects.
The play is to be presented on the
auditorium stage of North Carolina Col
lege for Women, on the night of May 8.
Admission will be 35 and 50 cents.
MISS BULLARD’S CLASS

the department to be of immense size
and efficient furnishings.
The trip really seemed to be an edu
cational advantage to all present, and
each boy and girl was very reluctant to
leave. They all, however, hope to return
at another available period.

student body, with the hope of rounding
up the culprits within the next few weeks.
Several are already under suspicion and
all parties caught with April Athletic
Association tickets on their persons will
be seriously advised to attend every
game, giving to the team their loyal sup
port to make amends for this misconduct.
PROSPECTIVE BRIDES HONORED

(Continued from page one)
was a cleverly improvised altar with a
miniature bride and groom standing be
fore it.
At the ringing of the 8:30 bell the
meeting was adjourned, each member of
the faculty declaring that he preferred
the cafeteria at 7:30 o’clock in the morn
ing to room 106, the usual scene of such
gatherings, after the heat and stress of
the day.
PARK AND EDWARDS
ENTERTAIN STUDENTS
(Continued from page one)
third winners, respectively. Mf. Park
urged every boy in school to enter. “If
you don’t get the prize, you will at least
have the practice,” he said.
After Mr. Parks’ talk Mr. Edwards
gave a short talk on “Opportunity.” He
read several poems written by Bealey,
Shakespeare and Malone. Mr. Edwards
especially liked Malone’s poem and ad
vised every student in High School to
try to live up to it.
After reading these poems the speaker
told a short story about a poet who had
spent his life writing poems that were
unreal. Finally, he realized that his time
was past and that he had not expressed
his real feelings. When the realization
came to him that he had contributed
nothing to the world’s poetry, he wrote
the following lines to be put on his
tombstone:
“Pve worked by the light of the moon,.
And slept by the light of the sun;
Pve lived a life of going to do.
And died with nothing done.”
