Elm St. ‘‘Blue Shorts^^ By Barbara Moffitt Although the speedball game' with Oufry scheduled for October 26, was postponed due to rainy weather, those good sports in blue shorts played this game on Wed nesday, November 2. Thus fhr no definite schedule of the varying games of soccer and speedball has been made, but the teams plan to play Winston-Salem here in Greensboro and High Point at High Point some time in the near future. Within the next two weeks the intramural games will he finished and the one team winning, out of the three that played against each other, will be the winner of the soccer championship. Recently the girls have had their mind and spirit mostly on the games of soccer and speedball, but they seem to he rather anxious to get. hack to that ever-loving sport of basketball, the famous game that seems to he best liked by all American girls. At. the end of the .soccer gam^ a honorary varsity team will be chosen from these three teams. At a recent meeting, Pat Fargess,. a junior, was elected to the council. The next to last council meeting was held on October 18 at the home of Jan Richmond and after the council meeting, some of the mischieveons stlcken sports girls took the advantage of having Jan’s fla.sh-blub camera near at hand,, and got an excellent shot of none other than their sports leader Miss Gabriel. (Anyone interested in see ing this picture please see Jan!) The Athletic Council meeting of October .31 was held at the home of Rita Bumgarner. Many of the girls who take phy sical education are very interested in different sports and are coopera tive in rh'S activities of the after school games. Added to the physical education classes this year are many sopho more girls coming from the differ ent junior high schools who are' alsir cooperative and are willing and always waiting to participate- in the sports. t Select Your I I FLOWERS I I at I j Harry’s Flowers 1 I 414 W.
