S. under “pleasant memories” next year to accept the position as Prin cipal of Aycock School. When this busy man was finally “nabbed” for an interview, he im mediately gave forth with boasts of Senior. Mr. Herbert considers Greensboro mighty fortunate to have a high school such as Senior High with such a talented student body. Students Friendly When asked what he likes most about Senior, he replied, “the stu dents! I have had an, enjoyable time working with them.” “Mr. Eouth and the faculty are most apprecia tive and cooperative,” he added. Although he is looking forward to his work with the students of Ay- cock, he confesses that he will mik ‘dear ole’ G. H. S. Mr. Herbert is pleased with the spirit and happi ness expressed and the quality of work being done by G. H. S.’ers. He beams with pride at the large num ber of students on the Honor Koll. Qualifications He has taught in Oklahoma, New Mexico, and taught in California previous to coming to Senior High. He served four years in the Air Gorp, being a Captain of an Air Tran'Sport Command in San Fran cisco Port of Embarkation. A “Pop” As Well As Teacher A devoted father as well as a teacher, Mr. Herbert gives much of his time to his cute little son, Charles Jr. (that kid looks just like his dad! Too bad, girls, that he is only four!) G. H. S.’ers will miss Mr. Herbert next year—something will be lack ing—perhaps it will be that friendly smile, or that cute “hi” in the haUs. (It could even be that ability he has to chew gum!) but G. H. S.’ers, one and all, wish him lots of luck and happiness as Principal of Aycock. PARAGRAPHIC Where, oh where have the Senior- ites gone? Have you been wondering about the whereabouts of your classmates whose places in the happy class room scene have been vacant lately? Could it be that they, like so many others, have fallen victim to mumps ? IT’S THE CAROLINA SODA SHOP For After-School Dates Next to Carolina Theatre TRY OUR FROZEN CUSTARD Social doings at Senior are at a minimum, too. Hen parties are held, while the he-men of the campus are at home in bed, nursing the mumps! Oh, well, maybe when that tra ditional spring love-bug bites, it will chase all the other microbes out of town . . . at least, let’s hope S Y K E C SHOE SHOP ^ Shine Parlor 105 North Greene St. For Service in a Hurry so!
