December 15, 1950 High Life 'Whirlie Wimmin' by SYLVIA IRWIN Well, Ya’all, only a few more days ’til we begin, our wonderful Christmas vacations. Think you can wait? This year will be espe cially fine, we know ... at least for our grand basketball team that will be traveling up into Yankee coun try to display their talents. Not only do the boys have a fine team, but the girls team this season, will be mighty good, as they have veterans returning to the court. Real good veterans we might add. This issue, we take pleasure in presenting you readers with some really inside information about the girls in the 6th period Physical Ed. class. Maybe you’re wondering how we can find this information . . . well, I happen to be in that particu lar class. Well here goes: The Three Musketeers who are: Hilda Langley, Coleen Hurley, and Carolyn Costner, are some of the best where the game of soccer is concerned. The Wits are: “Boo” Dempsey, Monkey Sparger and Dottlie Dilli- ard, who love that basketball court, but sometimes make the game look like a three-ring circus . . .By the way all three wits go steady. Becky Phipps is the girl you want to watch where basketball is play ed. She is one of the very best. We certainly hope that Santa will be reading this column, be cause below are listed some of the girls who forgot to write him, and along side appear their wishes for Christmas. Sara Ann Hickerson leaves the decision up to Santa. Peggy Thomas, Betty Medders, and Naomi want just plain Snow! Marie Minor wants a trip to Summerfield. Edith Perryman, Louise Clark, Helen Buntin, Chris Van Court, Pat Vuncannon, Jan Waddell, “Sparky,” and “Jody” Phillips, all wish for their individual Hims. As for me, I just wish for Peace on Earth, Good Will Toward Men. Page Five Sp£.c4. Pictured above are some of the members of the 6th period Physical Education class.
