i Page Six High Life May 2,19S2 Playmasters Enter State Drama Meet Bard Of Avon Feted Leaving on Thursday morning at 9:15 the Playmasters of Greens boro Senior High School, ac companied by Miss Mozelle Causey, journeyed to Chapel Hill in order to present the winning Senior Class play, “Highness,” in competition with the other high school plays at the annual Drama Festival. Written by Ruth Giorloff, “Highness” has as it’s cast, Norma Veney, Tess Russell, Dave Wright, and De Armon Hunter. The two student directors who also made the trip are Evelyn Greenberg and Doris Irving. The play was presented at 3:30 a^id everyone returned home on Thursday night with the exception of President Norma Veney, who remained until Friday as the rep resentative for the group. At noon on Friday, April 25th, the Junior and Sophomore mem bers of the drama class went down to Chapel Hill in order to observe and learn from the plays given. This group included: Miss Causey, Ann Falk, Barbara Massey, Julia Blanchard, John Black, and Billy Hiatt. One or two of the Seniors returned to Chapel Hill and all of that group remained until the close of the festival on Saturday night. At 8:00 on Saturday morning Miss Causey attended a director’s breakfast and business meeting. In Birlhday Parly On April 23 Miss Mims’ Shakes peare class held a birthday party in honor of Will Shakespeare Miss Mims and Jack Harden, a member of the class, share their birthday with the great writer. The party began with the custo mary procedure of singing “Happy Birthday” to Will, Jack, and Miss Miras. It was sung in old English Refreshments of ice cream and Krispy-creme doughnuts were served. Two teams were formed con sisting of the girls against the boys and charades was played. They acted out famous Shakes peare quotations such as: “The course of true love never runs smooth” and “Parting is such sweet sorrow.” The girls won eight to seven.
