Mr. Glenn Sums
Up Good
“A real good year - in every
area. So said Mr. Glenn when
asked to give his impressions of
the 1975-76 school year. Mr.
Glenn went on to say that
Grimsley enjoyed “very success
ful athletics’’ and that the
scholastic achievements of the
students has been outstanding.
Mr. Glenn viewed the
successful continuation of the
Communications system as one of
the major accomplishments of
this year. He said he was very
pleased to notice the improved
communication between the
students.
Another achievement Mr.
Glenn is proud of is the
appointment of Susan Carter to
the United States Coast Guard
Academy and Shelley Ashworth’s
appointment to the West Point
Military Academy. He finds these
two appointments indicative of
the outstanding scholastic quality
of the senior class.
Along with the excellent
scholasticism of the class of 1976,
Mr. Glenn viewed their display of
leadership as the class’ most
valuable trait. “Everything a
senior does” will help him in his
down-to-earth planning for col
lege or future employment,
according to the principal.
Asked if he had any regrets
about the past school year, Mr.
Glenn said that he regretted that
he had to spend so much time in
meetings. He would have
preferred to spend that time with
the students.
While Mr. Glenn felt that the
student body behaved very well
all year, he felt that the most
outstanding quality exhibited by
the students was the significant
increase of school spirit School
spirit, according to Mr. Glenn,
generally covers the students’
interest in curriculum, activities,
sports, “and just Grimsley in
general.”

April 7th.
The team was defeated 140-117
in the final game with top-ranked
Page High School on April 14th.
Mr. Whisenant, Grimsley’s team
coach, described the close match
as neck to neck”. The winner
was not determined until the last
two tossup questions. Both teams
were in thfe crucial tossups, but
Page won the bonus point.
Mr. Whisenant comments that
this year’s team developed
quickness, was well-balanced in
all subject areas, and with a little
luck, could have been the
champions. He adds, “I want to
thank the juniors and seniors who
volunteered to practice against
the team. Several of the seniors
gave us the strongest opposition
we met in practice games, and the
juniors looked extremely promis
ing for next year.”
