FRIENDLY SHOPPING CENTER GREENSBORO.NORTH CAROLINA \ Congratulations go out to Susan Rabold and Larry and David Schneiderman, High Life’s Athletes of the Issue. Rabold, a senior, is cur rently undefeated and untied in the eight straight spring board diving meets she has been in. She has steadily improved without the assis tance of a coach from the beginning of her career which started in her sopho more year at Grimsley. Her highest scoring per formance of the season oc- cmred in the swim meet against cross-town rival Page. Her score of 176 points on six dives gave Rabold her largest victory margin of the year. Rabold’s toughest win came against Winston-Salem Reynolds. “That was the most gratifying win of the season,” she said. This was due to the fact that the Reynold’s diving coach, Scott Lineberry, was also Rabold’s coach during her second-place finish at the Junior Olympic Sectional Di ving Meet which was held at Raleigh during the past smn- mer. Larry and David Schnei derman have only been in organized wrestling for three years, but the achievements they have reached have been tremendous In high school the ‘ ‘ gruesome twosome ’ ’ have had eighty total wins against only eleven defeats for an 87 percentage of victories. Currently David, a junior, has fifteen straight victories and no defeats, and a total of six pins, in his weight class of 115 pounds and under. “I must work harder on my strength, conditioning, and quickness of moves if I’m to become state cham pion,” he said at the end of his sophomore year after his disappointing loss in the first round of the state match. This goal is very possible after his performances of this season which include the MVP award at the Greens boro Invitational match. Larry on the other hand has proven to everyone to be a major threat in the quest for the state championship this year. After pinning twe lve of his sixteen opponents and having a flawless record, he could well be the next state champion.
