B —^FUN. Tradition. Culture. Who said they aren’t a cool blend?
I^CUSA, Chinese Undergraduate Students Association, provides
■i members with the chance not just to social, not just to party, but
also to share Chinese culture.
We are a small club, but we have dedicated members. Thanks to
them, our past semester’s Chinese Ma Jong meetings, Chinese
language study groups, and Chinese food sale has all been quite
successful! And to start off our spring semester, we had a party
to celebrate Chinese New Year (January 23). The Lunar New
Year party on February 3 had a good turnout, more people than
we expected. We’ve invited people from universities all over
NC to come join us in celebration of this event. Tony Tsai from
UNCC volunteered to demonstrate some fantas
tic tricks with the Chinese yoyo. And we are
really glad to have Alex Chao, Phillip Chang,
and Ezekiel Chen from TACAS, a Chinese
organization in Cary to perform the lion dance.
Ah, let me stop and advertise our CUSA home-
page: www.unc.edu/student/orgs/cusa. Check it
out for pictures on the event-
Of course, we still have plenty of time left in the
semester for more activities. We are thinking
about a Cooking Night, a Ma Jong Competition,
and a CUSA picnic by a lake. E W
