ASA Beach Trip 2003: Garden City Beach The girls right before heading off to the Spanish Galleon! At the beginning of each year, ASA plans a beach trip near Labor Day aimed at introducing the fresh men to the upperclassmen and other members of ASA. This year, we had an awesome time at Garden City Beach, NC. Over 40 students attended this event, including many freshmen who got a good taste of the upcoming, fun year. Duke’s ASA was at nearby Myrtle Beach, and we were able to have a joint party at the Spanish Galleon. It was a great opportunity for all of those who attended to get to know each other on a deeper level. On March 27th, UNC-CH along with Duke and State’s ASA, will hold a Spring Semi-formal at the nearby restaurant and bar in Chapel Hill called Spice Street. It is the first semi-formal UNC has held all year and the first Triangle semi-formal of its kind. We are expecting anywhere from 250-300 students to attend from all three schools. Music and food will be provided in hopes of giving everyone a night to remember. N ear the end of the year, ASA will hold, like it has traditionally done, an end- of-the-year mixer. We are also plan ning a night where students will get a chance to say goodbye to the graduat ing seniors. Ideas for social events are always wel- Duke, State, and UNC ASA members enjoying time together before a mixer. come and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Look out for ASA announcements concerning our social events in the upcoming weeks. I encourage all of you who are interested to come out and see what UNC's ASA is all about. ~EW Some ASA members hang out before attending a mixer.
