pressive but they should never the less
arouse some curiosity and alarming
questions in your minds about the fate
and survival of our schools. If Black col
leges were not educating Black students
all these years where would our dentist,
our pharmacists, our Congress persons,
our judges, our physicians, and Lord
knows our thousands of educators be?
If Black colleges did not educate Black
people- then who would? The plain truth
is, that if there were no Black colleges
we would have to create them. Because |
B'ack colleges have been the only in
stitutions that have made the commit-l
ment and have demonstrated through!
their many years of caring service that I
they are capable of sacrificing the time, [
resources and experiences to give Black I
youth more than is required, more than I
minimum substance, but maximum [
