Dr. Larry Little has students flowing in and out of his office for a number of reasons. Some need to talk about a grade or an assignment. Others want to hold general conversation or simply say hello. Then there are some seeking advice, like Darryl Hunt.” “Now it seems unreal that he’s out, talking in my office, driving a truck, sitting in class,” Little says as he and Hunt reflect upon the unique relationship they’ve built over almost two decades.. “He someone whose opinions I treasure,” Hunt said. “He’s like a mentor, brother, father figure.” “If it wasn’t for him, well for God, but for him, no one would’ve ever known what was going on. “ Little has been advising Hunt for a long time. But the advice on this particular Monday is different. Hunt isn’t taking legal advice about beating a system that kept him incarcerated for 18 years on the false accusation of murder. Instead Little is offering him words of wisdom on how to get on with his life. In a way it’s time for the two to move on. They will never forget the almost twenty years of injustice, struggle and fatigue they endured to set Hunt free, but they will move forward. “A good friend of mine point ed out something to me when Darryl was exonerated.
