I'A' '' Dr. Sir Walter Mack, Jr., pastor of Union Baptist Church will launch and sign his new book, “Passion For Your Kingdom Purpose - Sharpen Your Gifts, Test Your Character, and Move to Your Next Level ” on Sunday, October 10, 2004 at 4:00 pm at Union Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC. The signing is free and open to the public. In his book, “Passion for Your Kingdom Purpose,” Dr. Sir Walter Mack, Jr. introduces readers to their purpose in God's kingdom. He provides a powerful foundation to launch readers into their divine assignments and encourages them to start right where they are. Dr. Mack defines "Kingdom of God" as “God's thoughts becoming our- natural desires. Readers are inspired to pursue the strongest desires of their heart, for often desires are the very calling and purpose of God for their life.” Dr. Mack then takes readers through a personal evaluation of their daily existence, revealing where God can help them overcome obstacles and illustrating where they are already excelling. Dr. Mack teaches, inspires, and challenges readers to reach new levels in their walk with God and live their kingdom purpose. Though Dr. Mack has completed this book on how churches and individuals develop and main tain passion for the Kingdom, he continually seeks God concerning the effective ministry and out reach work which has a profound influence on individuals, families and entire communities. Dr. Lenora Mack McClain Dr. Lenora Mack McClain, the daughter of Hazle Lee (deceased) and Lee Faye Mack grew up in East Winston as Lenora “Bunchy” Mack. Mrs. McClain received her Ph.D. degree in Psycho-educational Studies from Howard University Graduate School on May 7, 2004. This culminated a journey that Lenora began when she returned to school in the mici' nineties.' ’Sh'e enrolled into High Point University obtaining her second BS Degree, her first from Winston-Salem State University in the eighties. Next, she took the bold step of leaving her job at Sara Lee to pursue her Masters Degree. In 1997, Lenora moved to Atlanta to attend Clark Atlanta University, where she received her Masters in Psychology in 1999. However, Lenora was not through yet. She again picked up and moved to Washington, DC to attend Howard University. While pursuing her doctorate degree, Lenora worked for the National Institute of Health, Department of Pediatrics at Howard University Hospital. While matriculating at Howard, Lenora received the 2003-2004 Theodora Daniels Research Grant Award and the Graduate Assistant Award Department of Education from 1999 to 2000. ' Lenora has chosen children as the focus of her life’s work. Her research specialization has been African American Female Adolescents. Her dissertation was titled “Psychological and Socio-cul- tural Influences of Peer Aggression in African-American School Girls.” This included a study of African American girls in a local Winston- Salem school, grades 3 through 7 to determine causes and links to aggression in girls at early ages. Currently, Lenora is serving as Intern Psychologist with Triad Health Management in Washington, DC. Lenora will now serve as lead researcher for the National Institute of Health as well as a professor with Howard University and Georgetown University serving in their psychology departments. She will also work as a contractor for excep tional children’s programs across the Uriited States of America.
