Nina Shay, a local success story is proof positive that with prepara tion and dedication our own local girls can make their dreams of becoming a professional model a reality. Known by Nina Shay as her professional name, Danita Rice Howard, daughter of Ollie Patricia Sadler and William Rice, was born in Winston-Salem. She relocated to New York as a child, but came home regularly to visit the family. She was first approached to consider modeling while a student at the prestigious Fashion Institute of New York studying Fashion Merchandising. Her career took off from there and expanded to Print Modeling, Radio, TV Commercials and parts in several movies. To enhance her broadcasting skills Shay recently completed courses at NYU School of Broadcasting. Most recently Nina Shay concluded a successful four year run as the primary correspondent on “Main Floor”, ABC’s thirty minute weekly fashion and beauty entertainment show.
