For the past seven years, Kay Lord
has had her hands full.
Full of ten-penny nails and full of
blisters. Full of ordinary people doing
extraordinary things, and full of
promises made and kept.
At the end of the year. Lord, 62, the
executive director of Habitat for
Humanity of Forsyth County, will be
stepping down. She will leave the
not-for-profit housing agency in the
hands of capable volunteers and staff

LEAGUE dedicated its Equal
Opportunity Day Luncheon last month to
the Commemoration of the 50th
Anniversary of Brown vs. Board of
Education. Marc H. Morial, the
unanimous selection as President and
CEO of the National Urban League by its
Board of Trustees in 2003, an attorney,
the former mayor of New Orleans for
eight distinguished years who also
served as President of the United States
Conference of Mayors, delivered a

We offer one on one, and group
education counseling services. Our serv
ices include: how to purchase, sell and
build a home or prevent foreclosure. We
also offer information on reverse loans
for seniors and rental referrals.
Our comprehensive programs will

needs: Pre-purchase counseling to those
that are interested in the process of
buying a home. Counseling sessions are
