UNION BAPTIST CHURCH
ADDS THIRD SERVICE
With two strong services now
going, Union Baptist Church wili add a
third worship service on Sundays
caiied Over Flow at 1:00 pm. “This
service is a very contemporary service
with high energy,” says Dr. Sir Walter
Mack, Jr., pastor and teacher at Union
Baptist. “It will be a non traditional
sen/ice with an instructional message,
encircled with steppers, college praise
teams, rap and poetry. It promises to
be an awesome worship experience.”
A nine o’clock worship service was
added four years ago, called Hour of
Power to provide a time of worship for
people who worked odd hours and
had other time constraints.
The Over Flow church service will
be in young adult language says
Mack. Many of our young people
grew up “unchurched.” Just like older
adults who have been in the church all
their lives, young people want worship
that speaks to their life experiences,
that challenges them to develop

deeper relationships, that gives them
a sense of community, and connects
them with something greater than
themselves. This service is designed
to inspire them and let them have “real
worship.”

Dr. Powell is not just a family
