Claretha “Clare” Wallace of
Winston-Salem is the organization’s
new program officer for lending.
Clare Wallace’s responsibilities
will include: Underwriting requests
for grants and loans primarily relat
ed to multi-family and single family
housing and commercial/economic
development projects; monitoring
organizational development goals;
and providing technical assistance
to LISC partners on neighborhood
revitalization strategies and subsidy
sources.

He’s on the road again. John A. Jackson, II is on the phone on his way back from
Raleigh no doubt from seeing a client. For those of you who don’t recognize his
name at first glance, John A. Jackson, II is one of our nations best and brightest up

You would think considering who he is and what he does it would be hard to
catch up with him, but much to my delight, that was not the case. This was not my
first conversation with John. We had spoken a few days earlier, and on both
occasions I was admittedly surprised to find how accessible Mr. Jackson was. He
allowed himself to be easily reached, and I think I found out why. Mr. Jackson loves
