A CHARGE TO KEEP By Sam Little Many of you may remem ber, "The Phoenix", a spectacuiar hundred-foot oil on canvas mural painted by Gienda Wharton while she was a student at the North Carolina School of the Performing Arts. Think of those images, symbois, and figures walking, taiking, and fiying and you wiii have some idea of her wonderful new work-in-progress, “The Zo and The Invisibie Friend”. “The Zo and the Invisible Friend” will be a 35mm hand-drawn and painted short fiim. It is the story of an abused chiid kept in a magical house by a mon ster called the Zo. It is a story of abuse and survival. “The Zo” is aii hand drawn and painted and Glenda may be the only person in the world working in this way. Glenda's first experiences with anima tion came when she created Winston-Salem State University's GAMMA digital imaging program in the 1990's. "Our program was By Mia Brydie It is that time again!
