Page 7 July 2010 The AC Phoenix Summer Arts Camp 2010 Thank You! This year's theme is "Growing Together in Love and with Respect for One Another". The Artistic and camp direction of Janice Price who holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Howard University in Washington DC and a Master of Science in Business Administration Degree from Virginia College in Birmingham Alabama. The Summer Arts Camp is unique due to its diversified curriculum of academics such as Reading, Math and Computer Science along with Fine Arts instruction in Dance, Drama, and Art. The campers also learn the art of chess, competitive sports and social etiquette promoting team work and developing social integration with others. On Thursdays many professional musicians, artists and community leaders were invited to share their vocational and life learned skills. The campers met and interacted with the guests, giving them the opportunity to build relationships, to ask questions and address questions directly. Friday was "Fun Friday" the campers hit the road to far and near places that offered fun and adventure to each camper. Skating, bowling, putt-putt, Biltmore House and the North Carolina Zoo were among their favorite places to visit and enjoy. The Mount Zion Summer Arts Camp was held Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 5:30pm. It ran June 14- August 6, 2010 for eight weeks. There was a $40.00 registration fee and cost only $90.00 per week. Multi-children households receive a discount on each additional child: $80.00 for the second child and $75.00 for a third or more children. These fees include all activities and supplies, breakfast, lunch and an evening snack and much, much more. Pastor, Rev. Dr. SerenusT. Churn Sr. and the Mount Zion Baptist Church Family, which is "The Joy of the Whole Earth" thank you for attending our Summer Arts Program 2010. It is indeed a summer experience you will cherish but most of all one your child will fondly long remember.
