Page 4 Expect the Best In 2014 By John Raye January 2014 The AC Phoenix John Raye Let's begin with a documented fact: Your expectations give birth to your reality. No matter how hard or how often you try—you cannot rise above your level of expectation. If you expect minor, minimum or maxi mum success in 2014, this is exactly what life will bring you! More or less, you always get what you expect to get, and there is no getting around this reality. You are the engineer of your own future. For example, a Zebra cannot change its stripes A turtle cannot move until he sticks his neck out. The late great Jim Rhome once told an audience, "you can move! You can always move...because you are not a tree!" Also, you can change your mind—anytime you want to simply because you are the boss, the judge, jury and choir director of your own mind. You can make your heart sing anytime you feel the urge to do so! Conversely, you can also make your heart cry anytime you want to! That's the kind of power given to every human being! So let's be clear about another docu mented fact: the power to create your own reality, your own lifestyle, begins with your attitude—an attitude or posi tive expectancy or an attitude of isolated fear, doubt, uncertainty or indifference. It's good to know we get the chance to choose our attitude. And unlike the Zebra, we can always change our attitude. This is a good thing. Thus, if you expect 2014 to be your best year ever, here are seven major action strategies that must be given due consideration and some due diligence now: (l)Re-fortify your mind. Assume that you fell short of your expectations last year. You worked your (you-know-what-off), but still came up short. Well, all flowers don't bloom at the same time, and some flowers never bloom. Life produces both winners and losers. Put your focus on your future—not your past! Edison, the genius who invented the light bulb, became a certified loser after 10,000 failures. How many times have you fail trying to do something? Edison went down 10,000 times but didn't quit. Mandela, after 27 years in prison, didn't quit. Carver was born into slavery and traded for a horse, but created more than 300 useful prod ucts from the peanut and sweet potato! He didn't quit! So wipe the slate clean; erase last year's results from your mind. Clean, clear and checkmate your mind. Also, checkmate and re-fortify your body with the proper nutrition, the proper food and the proper amounts of good drinking water and active, physical exercise. The Kosher-Halal aloe vera gel is one of Mother Nature's most powerful healing agents. We use it daily to detoxify our body and protect our immune system. This brand, the gold standard for aloe, is not sold in stores or other retail outlets. (2) Decide what you want. You may never get everything you want, but for sure, you'll get absolutely nothing, if you don't know what you want! Today, many people simply drift through life, waiting for,"a break,"that may never come, waiting for an opportunity that's already within reach. We suggest you stop waiting and sitting on your assets! Decide what you want! Know what you want. Know why you want it... then get up and go after it! Understand this much, "if the mountain won't come to Muhammad, then Muham mad must go to the mountain!"The world makes way for the man who knows what he wants! (3) Become a team player. Michael Jordan is widely considered to be the greatest pro basketball player to ever play the game. But Jordan didn't win a single game by himself. He won with his teammates. Get on somebody's team or go make a team for yourself. Teamwork makes the dream work! No man ever became successful by himself. Any team, no matter how awful, is better than, "no team!" (4) Set a goal. Put down in writing your action plan and goals for 2014. You become proactive when you begin with -the -end -in -mind. If your main goal, for example, is more money, put it down on paper and be definite, be specific. How much money? Fix in your mind, the exact amount you intend to earn in 2014, and do not make excuses or second-guess your self. If you are incapable of writing down your goals and plans for this new year, you are confused, dreaming, uncommitted, mis-educated or mis-informed. Nothing is greater, stronger or more definitive than a made- up mind! (5) Learn to hustle. Nothing comes to a sleeper but a dream. And if you sleep too long, your dream converts into a nightmare. Get off the telephone, get from behind your computer, silence your smart phone and go meet people face- to-face. Put a smile on your face, some honey in your voice and some pep in your step! If you are tired or not feeling well, go somewhere and sit down until you feel better. You only get one life and this is not a rehearsal. Real winners get moving early and stay up late. One day, you will have a very long time to sleep! It's time for us to hustle! (6) Educate yourself. The greatest educa tion in the world is self-education. Under stand who you are and whose your are! You are a child of the Universe and you have a right to be here. There is a reason and a purpose for your being born at this time, and also a reason and a purpose for your reading this article.Talk back to me if you understand what this means. Educate, then duplicate but never doubt your own God-given ability. There are times when you may have to learn or unlearn some things, especially things that could be det rimental to your health and overall well -being. {7)Tell the truth. When you don't know what to say, don't say anything. When in doubt, leave it out. As far as possible, be at peace with everyone, even the dull and the ignorant because they also have a right to be here. Practice gratitude, patience and forgiveness because whatsoever is sent out, always come back, sooner or later, to the sender. Keep on doing good and make the best of every situation, no matter the degree of perceived difficulty. Its best to "be anxious for nothing," and to know that in due season, you will reap if you don't quit. Go now and rejoice with the full knowledge that 2014 is your due season! Get busy and go hustle like you really believe it! People need, and are looking, and waiting for us! —John Raye, a life-wellness-health-business coach, is an eight year cancer champion. The choices and decisions that I've made were self- centered and self-motivated in nature. This revelatory truth shows me that only ■ God can order my steps. His path alone will bring me into position to receive His blessings, as He sees fit. I reverence the awesome power of His manifold wisdom, and how He can take something old and remake the same into something new. He then continues to remake the remade with a newness through the power of the Holy Spirit. The revelation knowledge creates a mindset that empowers the human spirit. When I stumble I stumble to create new ness. As I rise, I rise to move forward as a living testimony. My testimony acts as wit ness to the power of Gods hand on my life and His spirit that abides within me. This fresh re3velation defines my purpose...for without purpose my will can be overrun by my desires. In my blind quest for pleasure, I am unable to see the shadows gather ing above me. In the blink of an eye I find myself in complete darkness and it is at that moment I become a weak and desper ate man....BUT GOD!!! The Gospel of James chapter 1 verse 14-15 tells me that"each man is tempted and drawn away to be his own lust when enticed", but my father always gives me a way out, verse 12; teaches, "Blessed is the manwho endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him." As I continue to grow and mature in spirit and in truth, I know now that my temple is governed by something higher. That wisdom is proved by her children. I can see my mistakes in the context of my growth, not in the context of my condemnation and for the rest of my life when I look at the mistakes I make, I will have a short memory, and not matter what....God gets the Glory!!
