Junior Freshman Party Considered Great Success Tlie Junior-Freshman Party was given in Morrison Hall on Friday, November 13, at 8:30 o’clock. The plan and entertainment of the party was carried out in the “unlucky day” effect. Phi Mu Chapter Entertains with Steak Supper Ah, cruel fate . . . tliat should be stow all those Fashion Show prize cakes on the Oay Students. Our brother college sent over some rather handsome specimens, too. Who was that darling male “Jeb- bie” Clark had the other night? We need more like him to brighten the corners in the parlor. The entertainment was very un usual and interesting. A floor show was given by Davidson with Queens- Chicora assisting. Walter Dixon of Davidson, officiated as master of cere monies. Prizes were presented throxighout the evening. Lillian Smith, president of the Junior class, and Betsy Springer chairman of the Freshman class, with Mrs. Agnew, Miss Henderson, and Miss Grover were responsible for the party. The committee in charge of the decorations consisted of Lib Calder, Helen Williams, Betty Hunter, Ca mille Hunter, Betsy Tingley, Mary Currie, Ruth Morrison, Margaret Johnston, Martha Rainey, Alice Wright Murphy, Lib tiarms, Jessie Rose Clarke, and Anne Fuller. Joe Hackney, Jane Wiley, Zoe Strawn, and Helen Williford were in charge of dates. Freddie Ward, Lucille Hill, Martha Johnston, Ora Lee Dough erty, Dorothy Muse, Alice Longe- necker served on the food committee. Margaret Buffom, Margaret Flowe, Grace Clarke, and Ashley Dulin, were in charge of the entertainment. The actives of Phi Mu Sorority were hostesses at a delightful steak supper, Thursday evening, November •5, at the home of Louise Jones. The affair was given in honor of Mrs. Agnew; the new initiates, Alene Ward and Louise Jones; and the pledges, I.ucille Harmon, Betty Gardner, Gladys Ingram, Analane Chears, Margaret Flowe, Betsy Springer, Elizabeth Harms and Dot Alexander. Queens Students Attend Meet Delegates of tlie Student Christian Association of (^ueens-Chicora Col lege attended the fall conference of the State Student Christian Associa tion at Flora-Macdonald College in Red Springs, November 7 and 8. Dr. Doriss Howe, professor of bi ology at Queens-Chicora College, is the advisor for the South Carolina Association. She attended the con vention along with the delegates. Miss (Continued on pa/je J. eol. 4) Dean Addresses Student Body At Chapel Alpha Delta Pis Honor Members Of City Club Beta Iota chapter of Alpha Delta Pi entertained their Alumnae Thurs day, November 5, with an informal buffet supper. The house was artistically deco rated with autumn leaves and chry santhemums. President Isabel Turner greeted the guests at the door. The alumnae present were; Mrs. Aubrey Elliot, Mrs. Guy Newman, Mrs. J. A, Cans- ler, Mrs. Odel Long, Virginia Carey, and Catherine Cowhig. At the regular chapel hour Thurs day, November 5, Dr. Godard ad dressed the student body in a very interesting talk on student’s attitudes toward tests and examinations. Dr, Godard’s definition of a test is “A demonstration of what one learns given under forced conditions. He gave two different methods of studying for a test.
