'❖ I Page 4 QUEENS BLUES October 21, 1939 Regress And Yell Lustily There is nothing quite so breath taking as a good, lusty yell at a football game. It gets in your blood and when you hear another person yell the first thing you know, amist all the noise and confusion, you hear your own voice yelling something quite senseless but very tbrilling. The cheer leaders yell' something and every one begins to cheer and ap plaud loudly. The team goes over for a touchdown and when you open your mouth to again yell for the home team, some playful fella higher up in the grandstand very calmly drops the hulls from several peanuts into the yawning ahyss. After a few whoop ing coughs and throat clearings you decide to yell once more for the team. All in vain this time, though—they‘ve been penalized for holding—So time passes and although you have defi nitely a sore throat as the result of so much yelling, you wouldn't give a thing for liaving had the enjoyment. 1 At the "Y” Store specify | BRUCE'S JUICES Dixie News Co., Jobber i PURCELL'S ★ Distinctive Wamends Wear ■At. 206 North Try on Street CHARLOTTE, N. MARCO POLO (Continued from page two) He went to Java, Ceylon and Pamir To the Mountain of Adam, with its high atmosphere. And for proof of his climb, he always spent time In gathering wild sheep which were quite common here. Journey after journey and on each return. lie brought back a jewel or maybe an urn. Some spice or rice, and unusual mice Or probably some brass that never would turn. When the people saw all that Polo had brought. And thought of the wonders that he had wrought. They began to ponder, to grow con stantly fonder. Of finding these places that Polo had sought. So they climbed aboard vessels, and set out to sea. In search of this land full of milk, silk and tea. They found the land, but not as they’d planned. Instead—t’was America, the land of the free! Mr. Polo’s adventures have come down through the ages. His tales are discussed by the wisest of sages And, it all seems so true, so what do they do! Hut make him a star on our screens and our stages! Nice work Mr. Polo!
