Miss Foxworth
Campus Guest
On December tenth, eleventh,
and twelfth, we will be honored
by having Miss Eleanor Fox-
worth as a guest on our campus.
This past summer she began her
work as Traveling Secretary for
the Committee of Christian Edu
cation and Ministerial Relief of
the Southern Presbyterian
Church. It is in this capacity that
Miss Foxworth comes to us. It
is her work to visit the various
college campuses and confront
the young people with the chal
lenge of finding and following
the will of God in connection with
their choice of their life’s work.
Queen's Players
Organize
The first meeting of the Queens
Players met with a huge response
from the student body. Thirty-
five girls turned out on October
31 to enlist their efforts toward
a dramatic club on Queens cam
pus.
Outstanding
Students Are
Honored
Buford Bobbitt, Eleanor Huske,
Cathey Leeper, Betty McMurray,
Ruth Magrath, and Betty Sue
Trulock have been nominated by
a committee of students and fac
ulty members to represent Queens
College in Who’s Who Among
Students in American Universi
ties and Colleges.
Who’s Who is a national hon
orary organization to which ov
er 600 American colleges and
universities elect representatives.
The number of representatives to
be elected is determined by the
enrollment of the institution.
The purpose of Who’s Who is
to serve as an incentive to stu
dents for getting the most out of
their careers, as a means of com
pensation to students for what
they have done, as a standard of
measurement for students, and
as a recommendation of students
to the business world.
Character, scholarship, leader
ship in extra-curricular activi
ties, and potentiality for future
usefulness to business and so
ciety are requisites for member
ship. Queens is proud that six of
its student body have more than
amply met these requirements.
Each of the nominated young
women is outstanding in char
acter, in scholarship, and in lead
ership abilities. The extra-curric
ular activities and honors of these

A native of Kingstree, S. C.,
Miss Foxworth has had a great
deal of experience working with
young people. Before taking this
present position she was head of
student work at Baton Rouge,
Louisiana. Many of us had the
privilege of meeting Miss Fox
worth at Montreat this summer
and we are so happy to welcome
her to our campus.
Miss Strickland greeted the
group and made a talk concern
ing the aims and purpose of the
club. She stated that the club
would be limited to forty-five
girls and those veterans who are
interested in the club. The veter
ans’ presence is needed in the
organization. Miss Strickland fur
ther pointed out that the club
will be divided into three major
fields: play production, radio, and
acting. Each member is asked to
concentrate in one field, but
there will be ample opportunities
for everyone in all three during
the year.
Calendar Of Events
A steering committee was ap
pointed to nominate a slate of of
ficers for the club. Florence Rob
inson was chairman, and Eliza
beth Beall, Meredith Henry, and
Arnette Avery served on the com
mittee.
The slate nominated was as
follows:
