APRIL, 1970 THE SPECTATOR Page Three Cfioras Preparing Spring Concert The chorus is now in preparation for its biggest concert of the year. The spring concert which is sched uled for May 22 will be performed at the D. N. Hix School auditori um at 8:00. As in the Christmas concert, the Madrigals will be assisting in the spring concert. They will be doing several numbers independently and then will sing with the chorus in the last number. It is hoped that since our school does not have an auditorium that students and faculty members will attend the concert at D. N. Hix to see the work of the chorus this year. A small group of the chorus is going to sing at a luncheon the Woman’s Club is sponsoring. This is a chance to show others the work of our chorus. We have seen many new faces here at Webb and it has really been fun getting to know the people be hind these faces. This girl really lives up to all the nice things this reporter has heard about her. Pa tricia Colson is this person and one of our most faithful athletic sup porters. (I don’t think she missed a basketball game!) Patricia, keep ali that yelling coming and all our teams will win I Our sophomore for this issue is one who has been manager of our basketball team for two years along with Martin Fox. This very cute boy, Ted Wheeler, I hear, was a real swinger at the beach last sum mer. Ted, we really appreciate all your hard work and I’m sure the teams do, too. Our cheerleaders have had a new addition recently at the basketball games. You can recognize this per son because he’s the only one with out a dress on! Michael Cutts hap pens to be this cute addition and it makes for a funnier evening to see him out there among all those girls. Mike, if you’ve got that feeling, say “Oh, yeh I!’’ This is really the time to give all credit due to those who have sup ported our athletics during the first two sports of the year. One teacher who faithfully attends all the games is Mrs. Grace Bullock, who teaches economics and sociology, and world history in swinging Mobile Unit Number 4. Mrs. Bullock, I’m sure all the teams appreciate what you’ve done for them. You’re really an asset to our school. A little pullet in the hen yard went screaming to her mother. “Ma ma, Mama, the preacher came and has eaten little brother.” “Well,” replied the mother hen stoically, “perhaps it is just as well he entered the ministry. He never would have made a good layman.” GRADY^S VAilSITY CLOTHES Oxford — HendenoQ Phone 693-5090 “Home of 24-H(ntr Smses’' Oxford, N. C.
