Page Four THE EARLY BIRD December, 1953 CLASS NEWS—Continued 6R Mrs. Bessie Redding, Teacher We realize the need for a better un derstanding of the importance of good nutrition. We have chosen for our health unit “Foods and What They Do for You.” With Dr. Holliday, the state dentist, in our school, we are now studying the importance of good foods to good teeth. Friends from the community are al ways welcome visitors in our classroom. We were certainly glad to welcome Dr. Joseph Colson, a fine young physician, Rev. J. W. Gwyn, recently appointed pastor to St. Peter’s Methodist Church, Mrs. Lucy Hamme, Mrs. Lindell Dunn and Mrs. Mary Satterfield, three of our parents. While our teacher, Mrs. Redding, at tended the North Carolina conference of Colored Parents and Teachers at Kinston, N. C., Mrs. Erma Rogers sub stituted and we were happy to welcome her. The Honor Roll for this period re ports the following 6R pupils listed; Ethel Jeffers, Jessie Mae Banks, Char les Daniel, and Donnell Parker. Bobby McClain, Reporter 6W Mrs. Sadie R.
