CAA Presents TV Set To H. H. Schell
On August 21, the employees of
the Caromount and Wilson Divi
sions recognized the twenty-five
years of service which their com
pany President H H. Schell, had
given. As a surprise, members of
the Board of Directors of the
Caromount Athletic A^ociation
moved into Mr. Schell’s new home,
“Dromelihy”, a handsome R. C.
A. Victor Combination television,
radio, and record player, while
John G Sterkin, president of the
Caromount Athletic Association
made the following comments,
“Mr Schell, June 15th of this
year marked the completion of
your 25th year of service with Sid
ney Blumenthal & Company, and
it was the happy privilege of the
Caromount Athletic Association,
acting for the employees of the
Southern Division to send you
our congratulations.
“That twenty-five year period
has been marked by many note
worthy advances in the company’s
position. Chief among these ad
vances was the acquisition of the
Southern Division, and its rapid
growth until today it stands as one
of the chief producers in the pile
fabric field of the textile indus
try.
“We are taking the opportunity
of this occasion to express our
gratitude to you, Mr Schell, for
your inspirational leadership and
guidance in bringing the company
successfully through many try
ing times.
“It is with an enthusiastic spir
it of friendship that all the em
ployees of the Southern Division
present to you as a token of our
esteem this R. C. A. Victor com
bination television, radio, and re
cord player. We hope that it will
furnish you, your family and
friends, much enjoyment and
wholesome entertainment through
the years ahead.”
A Million Man-Hours
Nearly three-fourths of the year,
1951 have passed with one of the
best Safety Records ever estab
lished by the C^'romount and Wil
son Divisions.
Ordy two lost time accidents
at Caromount stand in the way of
a perfect record. Even with two
accidents we have a chance to
work 1,000,000 man hours at
Caromount without a lost time ac
cident. The last lost time accident
occurred on March 16 and at the
present rate of production we will
round out a million man hours
of production by the end of the
year. A million man hours without
a lost time accident is a record
of which any plant can be ex
tremely proud.
The Wilson Division so far has
had no lost time accidents and if
no lost time cases are suffered
for the remainder of the year they
will have an accident frequency of
0 which is the highest tribute to
