Bill Waddell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred M, Waddell of Arl ington Street Extension, Rocky Mount (Mrs. Lucille AVaddell of the Mending Department) will graduate from N .C. State Col lege with the Bachelor of Me chanical Engineering Degree in June, 1952. Bill has been very active while a student at State. He served on the Engineer’s Council for two years; was a member of the Housing Com mittee and was Chairman of the Arrangements Committee tnr the 1951 Engineer’s Exposi tion which is designed to at tract high school students into the field of Engineering. Bill has been active in the N. C. State College Student Branch the Aniei-ican Society of Me- ‘‘l>anical Engineers and was Chairman of the Student Branch the last school year. Miss iMadaline Conway is the daughter of Mrs. Annie Conwaj (Mending Room). She is a member of the Senior Class of Henvenue and will graduate Hay 19, 1952. Madaline is a hiember of the Dramatics Club ‘md the 4-H Club. She lias "orited on the school paper, “The Star” and is especially ^•^hd of basketball. IMrs. Dessie Baxley Parrish is the daughter of Mrs. Kathleen Baxley of the Warping Depart ment. She will graduate fi-om Rocky Mount High School June 4th. Dessie is Secretary of the Distributive Education Club; and is an employee of Efird’s Department Store. Sgt. Fred A. Parrish, her husband, has been stationed in Korea for the |)ast ten months, and is now on his way home. They were married Apjil 7, 1951. Miss Betty Jane Ellis is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ellis (Wilson Division), Her mother is Mrs. >Jamie Ellis, Dispatch Clerk on the second shift, Betty Jane will graduate from Charles Coon High School in June; and after grad uation she plans to enter Nurses Training at Saint Leo’s Hospital in Greensboro. In high school she served as Home Room Of ficer her first year; was a mem ber of the choir for three years; was on the Prom Committee her tliird year; as a member of the Boosters Club lier fourtli year; was on the Steering Com mittee her fourth year; par ticipated at Stunt Night for three years; and was an Usher for the N c. Symphony Orches tra and the All American Male Cliorus. Miss Nancy Adams daughter of 3Ir. and IMrs. Durwood W. Adams (Superintendent of the Dyehouse) will graduate from Rocky IMount High School June 4, 1952. Nancy was a mem ber of Tri-Hi-Y* for 4 years; was in the Radio Broadcasters Club; participated in Dramat ics; was on tlie Senior An- nouncem ent Committee; was Secretary of the English Class; Vice President of the Bridge Club; Nancy is President of the Young People’s Service League of the Good Shepherd Church and a member of the choir. She is a member of the Sigma Delta Alpha Sorority; and she is plan ning to enter the freshman class of the Woman’s C^jiiege, Uni versity of N. at- Greensboro. Miss Carolyn Ellis is the daughter of Knoxie Ellis (Raw- Goods and Mending). She is a member of the 1952 Gradua tion Class at Rocky Mount High School. Carolyn’s activities in high school have been: Feat ure Editor of The Blackbird, tile high school paper; delegate to the Columbia Scholastic Press Association in New I'ork; Cast of “Wild Rose”, “A Day In June”, “A Christmas Rose”; Edsonian Dramatic Organiza tion; Homeroom and Class Of ficers; Choir. Miss Jean Cooper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, N .C. Cooper (Weaving) will graduate from Rocky j>Tount High School in June. During school, Jean was a cheerleader in 1952; on tlie Hi-Noc-Ar Staff in 1952 and the Blackbird Staff in 1951; was in the Jr.-Sr. ^lay Court in 1951 and is in the running for the May Court in 1952. She is a member of the Black Ylasqu- crs (honorary dramatics organ ization), tlie Edsonian Dramat ics Organization and various other clubs. She is a member of the North Rocky Ylount Bap tist Cliurcli and is active in church activities. She is a tuem- bejt* of the S’ .tna Delta Alplia Sorority. Jei.n plans to enter Mars Hill College near Ashe ville this fall to study Religious Education. She plays the piano, organ and sings. Oiarles Rowe is the son of Mrs. Evelyn Rowe (Wilson Di vision). He is a member of the 19.52 graduation class at Char les L. Coon High School. Char les is a inember of the High School Band and by F.
