Morris, son of Mrs. Pauline Morris of the Mending Department, graduated from Benvenue High School IMay 19, 1952, where he was President of the Senior Class. He won the American Legion Award this year and an award for driv ing the school bus safely for two years. E. B. plans to visit his broth er and sister in California and then to be in Salt Lake City for a Mhile doing some church work at the Church of Latter Day Saints. Final Examining Remodeling It seems as though Clyde Wall has taken a great interest in his church and their remodeling. He in a member of the Oakview Bap tist Church, and is helping to do some building there. Hospitalized We are very glad to see Carrie Webb out again after being at Memorial Hospital for six days. Sardines Lee Rose and a bunch of the guys went deep sea fishing last Saturday, and truest what thev brought back! That’s right, “Sar dines.” They will never convince us thev caught sardines on a deep sea trijD. New Deep Freeze Mrs. Loula Solmon has some thing now to take care of her food worries. She has just bought a new deep freeze. In Norfolk Mrs. Pearl Green spent a week end in Norfolk, Virginia visiting friends. She enjoyed going through the tunnel under the Eliz abeth River between Norfolk and Portsmouth, Dyehouse And Finishing Birthday Miss Ella Dickens celebrated her 8th birthday May 26. She is the daughter of Mark Dickens of the Dyehouse. In Atlanta Miss Jean Doris Sugg, daughter of Mrs. Elsie Sugg, spent a week end in Atlanta. Georgia, attend ing the General’s meetings of the Salvation Army Congress. She was enrolled as a member of the Splvation Army by General Albert Osbeun of London, Eng land, In Portsmouth Mrs, Elsie Sugg and her hus band spent the weekend of May 31st in Portsmouth, Va. visiting relatives. Out Sick P. T. Rowland has been out due to sickness, for several \seeks. He underwent an operation at Park View Hospital. We hope will soon be back at work. Helpers We have enjoved having Mrs. Violet Walker and Mac Rose fr )m the Mending Department help us during our rush. Employees’ Children In Wilkinson School Exercises Weaveshed News Believe It Or Not The other d&y, John Amos Dail parked his car on the rail road side of the canteen. Then he got out to in ^ the canteen ■ side door when he heard a tremen- ^ dous noise right back of him. He turned to see his Frazier bearing down on top of* iiim. Amos jump ed but the car c iyne to a stop about two inches short of where he stood. He had parked and forgot to put on his brakes. The old Fra zier had rolled down the bank, across the railroad and up to the canteen door. With a little expert manipulation on the part of Paul Savage the car was returned to the parking lot. Neither Amos nor the car were damaged. Jury Duty Claudie Armstrong and Melton Mercer served on the jury at 1 Nashville recently. They said they were glad when the term was over. Television Business Charlie Johnson and John Young are now in the Television Business. They invite everyone dow to look over their General Electric Television, Out Sick Coy Frye, Hubert Sutton, W. T. Layton and H. J. Ezzell have been out this month due to sickness. We are happy to have them back now. Children of Caromount employees took an active part in the May Day Exercises at Wilkinson School recently. Reading left to right are: C. D. AVebb, Flag-bearer; Phyllis Taylor; Una Driver, Peace; Donald Stallings, Uncle Sam; Barbara AA^instead, Readei;; Gladys Ricks; and Phillip Bone, Flag-bearer. Phillip is the son of Mrs. Ethel Bone of the Disi>atch Office. Una Driver, daughter of Mrs. Estelle Driver of the Finishing Department, graduated this year and will enter Rocky Mount High School this fall. She was winner of the highest award Given to a grammar school student, the Civitan Aledal for Citizenship.
