Lacy Baker (Dyehouse) has been confined to the hospital for treatment. He is getting along fine now. New Car John Silas Joyner has bought a 1947 Chevrolet and is very pleased with it. Sick Arthur Williams (Finishing De partment) returned to work on August 19, after a brief period of hospitalization at Park View Hos pital. Mrs. Nannie Dickens suffered a bad burn on her leg while do ing some canning; but she is able to be back at work now. Miss Hazel Thomas is back at work. She lost a week when she got too much sun at the beach, but she is alright now. Long Vacation It took Mrs. Tom Rowland a month to take her vacation and get back to work. We think this was too much sun and easy liv ing. New Home Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Morris seem to be doing very well in their new home. We saw sotpe beautiful tree roses the other day that they grew. Washington, D. C. N. C. Cooper made a trip to Washington. D. C. for a weekend recently. At Beach - ’ Mrs. Martha Carson speat three days at the beach. We under stand she had a nice time. Returned A1 Inscoe has returned from his wife’s home in Louisiana, and said they had a very nice time. New Home Mr. and Mrs. Sam Brittain have now moved into a home of their own, and say they like it much bet ter than an apartment. On Vacation Randolph Sutton took his vaca tion from August 11 to August 25. He took his family to Carolina Beach for a week. C. Visited Son Mrs, Janna Gupton spent a week in New York and Fort Han- cook, N. J. visiting her son, Gro ver. She visited the zoo and went shopping in the big city; spent some time in Newark, N. J. Returned From Guam S/Sgt. and Mrs. Charles Hughes and son, Randy, have returned home from Guam where they have been stationed for the past year. At Camp Mr. Clara Harlowe’s children both went to Camp this summer. Nancy went to Scout camp at Crabtree Creek and Carlton went to the R. A. Camp near Wilming ton. Visits Sister Mrs. Rosa Vester spent a re cent Sunday in Richmond with her sister, Mrs. Minnie Deans who is at the Tucker Hospital for treatment. Those going with Mrs. Vester were her mother, Mrs. Se- nora Deans and her sisters, Mrs. Sam Burns and Mrs. R, H. Ves ter.
