The new switehboard will speed up the hand ling of telephone ealls and will make for more effieient serviee. With the PBX in use, interplant ealls ean be made without the use of the seleet-o-phone. There is also less delay in plaeing ealls ami more people will now be able to use the telephone. .At night, th switehboard will be closed but the following telepliones will remain open: Manager’s Office, 8111; Storeroom, 8112; Dye- house, 8113; Weaveshed, 8114. t Don Murphy Arrives To ^ Set Up Design Dept The Design Department of the " Company was transferred to Caro- ^ 'bount this month with Donald ^ Uurphy as manager of this de partment. Air. Alurphy has been with the Company since 1927. He started las a helper in the Shipping De partment at the age of 18, and j Worked in various manufacturing departments during the next few years. In 1933 he became a mem- iher of the Planning Department with duties connected with weav ing control. In 1935 he was 1 transferred to the Design Depart ment doing analysis work on all fabrics. After discharge from the Arm- 'ed Services in 1943 he ret”^ned tb the Design Department. In 1951 he was appointed to his present position as manager of the ilesign Department. Stolzenberg Completes Transfer To Caromount Frederick W. Stolzenberg, head of the purchasing department of Sidney Blumenthal & Co., Inc., has moved to Rocky Alount where he has organized and set up the headquarters for the company purchasing department. Air. Stolzenberg has been with the Blumenthal organization for 37 years. He joined the firm in 1916 after graduation from The Philadelphia Textile Institute. He began his employment in the Time Study Department. He was later in charge of raw and final inspection and organized the A^arn Testing Department. In 1924 he organized the Design De partment which he headed until 1943, when he was placed in charge of the Purchasing Depart ment. Air. Stolzenberg is the son of the late Fritz Stolzenberg who came over from Germany and joined the Blumenthal company in 1891. The elder Stolzenberg moved with the company from its New' York plant to the Shelton, Connecticut, location in 1898 and served as Superintendent and Alill Manager until his death in 1934. Page Four) Parents Witness Their Sons Receive Badges At its Parent’s Night Troop 113 held a special Court of Honor in the Caromount Field Houst Aug ust 11 at which time advance ment and merit badges completed during summer camp w^ere award ed by the Troop Committee. E. H. Suessmuth, Chairman of the Troop Committee, conducted this special Court of Honor. George Odom, Steve Joyner, and Harold Eason were presented the second class scout badges and certificates by Randolph Sutton. Phillip Riley, Randy Sutton, Ronald King, and J. D. Privette were presented First Class scout badges and certificates bv Walter Greenman. The following merit badges were presented by R. Quillen Ward; Safety, Randy Sutton, Ron ald King, Phillip Riley, and J. D. Privette; First Aid, Ronald Smith; Public Health, Ronald Smith and Ronnie Hay; Camping Ronald Smith; Swimming, Phillip Bone and Ronnie Hay* Citizen ship in the Home, Ronnie Hay.
