By Mittie Smith On January 6, 1969, a group of efficient skilled students were placed on the employees list here at Barber by the Neighborhocd Youth Corp. This group of stu dents are working in different areas of the school so that they may develop good working hab its. They are working under the supervision of the principal and many department heads. These enrollees are developing a sense of responsibility within them selves and to others. In his speech he warned the students what wmuld happen if they followed the wrong crowd. He spoke of love, hate and anger, joy, jeal ousy and about which road will be the right or correct road for an individual to take. Students and faculty of J. T. Barber High School learned more about the Space Age in a dem onstration presented by the Na tional Aeronautics and..- Space^ Administration on January- 22; 1969 in the Borb''r Auditorium, Accompanying the Spacemobile and presenting the demonstra tion as Mr. Wilson M. Cole. Models of launch vehicDs and spacecraft, mechanical and elec tronic devices, and other, audio visual materials and experim'^nts are a p'’rt of the Soacemobile demonstrating equipment. These aids are used in demonstrating basic scientific principles and how these apply to the programs of NASA. BRIDGE THE GENERATION GAP (Continued from page one) the discussion were; 1. The gap is between parents and teenagers. 2. The gap was caused because of a. Teenagers want more free dom from their parents. b. Parents and teenagers don’t have the same ideas on subjects such as: type, of dress, style of hair, and curfews w’hen dating or attending social affairs. c. The gap may have been caused by incorrect rearing of a child. In order to bridge the gap both the p’’rents and the teen agers agi’eed that the best way to approach the situation would be for the parents and their chil dren to sit down, talk and try to reach an understanding of each other. About forty persons were pres ent and refreshments were serv ed after the discussion. Fannie Daniels Rev.
