VOLUME XVIII, NUMBER 2
Fall 1995
Message from Your President
Dear Fellow Members,
It is indeed a pleasure to serve as your president this year. I want you to
know that I appreciate the opportunity and only hope that I'm up to the chal
lenge.
As always, there are important issues on the horizon that we will face dur
ing the year. It will be important that the Board of Directors has your input,
advice and support. As issues, questions and problems arise during the year,
feel free to contact a member of your NCCCAEA Board. We want to hear
your concerns, we may not be able to solve your problems, but we will listen
and would like to try.
Also, please take an opportunity to invite some of your co-workers that are
not members to join the association. The Board has set a goal of600 members
for the year and only with your support will we reach that goal.
President, NCCCAEA
Donald Buie
Plans for the Fall and Spring Conferences are well on the way. President Elect Hans Aubuchon, Chairman Russ
Sharpies (Fall) and Chairman Bill Adams (Spring) have their ducks in a row and well on the way to two super
meetings. Hope to see you at the RTP Sheraton Imperial on Nov. 8-10. Remember, working together works!
Welcome To The 1995 Fall NCCCAEA Conference
We have planned over 40 workshops designed to
update and inform you in all facets of Adult Educa
tion. Also, we have some very special events in store.
Lieutenant Governor Dennis Wicker, Chairman of the
State Board of the Community College System, will
deliver our keynote address. Following the Lieuten
ant Governor will be Dr. Clifton Davis, the noted ac
tor, author, composer and the star of the television
series "Amen". Dr. Davis is Vice Chancellor for Plan
ning and Development at Elizabeth City State Uni
versity, and he will share his insights and perspectives
into adult education.
At the luncheon on Thursday, we'll salute Bobby
Anderson, who has retired after many years of ser
vice with the Community College System. And at
breakfast on Friday, a program of music and song by
Lisa Bamford, Miss North Carolina, will highlight a
tribute to our nation's veterans.
So, enjoy the conference and take advantage of the many
different workshops offered. We hope you find the 1995
conference your most informative and rewarding ever.
