Littleton School Class Day Exercises was given on last Friday evening April 24. Robert Jones was Valedictorian* Maryloen Cole was Salutatorian of the' graduating class. On Friday night, May 1st, Dean Bryan of Wake Forest Col lege will deliver the graduating address and the graduating exer cises with the presentation of di ploma-. awards and medals will follow. Mrs. Whitehead Entertains Mrs Mt, Mrs. have View been •lack Whiteliead was host ess at a rockfish dinner party on Tuesday evening to friends from Enfield. The house was beautifully decorated with white spring ilowers. The dining romo table was covered with an Irish lace cloth centered with white lillics. A three course dinner was served to the following Mesdames Rob ert Ivey, Benny Bobbitt, Robert Barnhill. Max Meyer, Collins Cu threll, Robert Baugham and Her man Futrell all of Enfield. After dinner several progressions ; of bridge were played. High scon; price, two swan blue vases were won by Mrs. Robert Baugham. Mr. and Mrs. A1 Peajrce and (laughter Marylin of Rocky spent Monday with Mr. and I.. H. Pearce. Mr. and Mrs. L. II. Pearce returned home from Park Hospital wher ethey have patients following an automobile accident Sunday night, April 1th Mr. T. E. Owens who was with them has also returned home. Mrs. Owens is still i nthe hospital but is getting along nicely. Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Griffin, Mrs. Swain Norman, and Mrs. Mil ton Read were shoppers in Rocky Mount Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. P. C. Draper trad Miss Ann Hale were visitors in Rocky Mount Saturday. Little Tommy Bass is confined to her home with red measles. Among those attending the Victory Dance in Enfield were Mr. and Mrs. P. C. He will leave Wednesday for Napier Field Dothan, Ala., to take advanced flying. He had his basic training at Georgia Aero-Tech, Augusta, Gii. James McMurray Joy-j ner were married in a formal cer emony at Queen Street Methodist Church Friday afternoon, April 23 at 5:30 o'clock. The Rev. Walter C. Ball heard the vows. The church was decorated with baskets of white gladioli and spir es, placed against a screen of fern and palms. Lighted tapers furnish ed illumination. Mrs. Henry Johnson, organist, presented a program of nuptial selections preceding the ceri ucny and accompanied Mrs. A. L. Hog an, soprano. Ushers were Horace Station, Jr. brother of the bride of Newport News. Va.. Jack Vincent of Ral eigh, Mack Allen el' Durham and Carlton Cannon of Roanoke Rap ids. The bride’s only sister, 'Miss Anne Sutton was maid of honor. She wore powder blue net with matching halo, and carried a arm bouquet of Briareiiff roses.
