TINEST MODEL-Two-year-old Billy Jewell was the youngest ' model among participants in the Kids Club Fashion Show held Sunday afternoon at Prestonwood Country Club. His mother, Deb bie Jewell, escorted him down the runway in her fashionable tennis attire. 6 • The Morrisville and Preston Progress, Wednesday, March 27,1996 Sunday best Preston models parade latest in spring styles By Roxanne Powers On this day, they were all model children. They should have been; they were participants in the Kids Club Fashion Show and Tea at Preston wood Country Club on March 24. Prestonwood’s formal dining room was transfcsmed by the ap pearance of a runway positioned through the length of it with seating on either side for the capacity crowd. The late afternoon fashion show promised to be entertaining early on when sister team Ale and Nikki Gutierrez modeled pleated tennis skirt ensembles by "Little Miss Tennis" from the Prestonwood tennis shop. Nine-year-old Ale wore the pink skirt and a white polo shirt with a collar trimmed in pink and blue. Little sister Nikki wore the turquoise skirt and a white polo with multicolored letters spell ing T^JNIS traveling in a h^- hazard manner down the shirt. Eight-year-old Nikki charmed the audience by flipping the tail of her skirt as she exit^ the runway. Also from the tennis shop was a sleeveless white knit dress modeled by seven-year-old Krista Paoiella. It featured a drop waist, ribbed col- hi and lavender tennis rackets crossed on the shoulder and out lined in rhinestones. The tennis shop flaunted an eye catching ladies line beginning with an ensemble by "Marcia Originals" modeled by Cathy Dillon. She sported a navy and white hound- stooth tennis skirt and jacket with matching boundstooth sleeves and navy bodice. Beneath the jacket was a sleeveless white knit shirt with houndstooth piping across the breast and a collar trimmed in navy and pink. Lisa Mathers modeled a black texoired plaid tennis skirt and yel low tank top with a black daffodil print by "TAIL." Maureen Segall commandeered attention with both of the ensem bles she modeled. The first, by Nike, was a black and white diamond print tennis skirt paired with a black polo sporting a collar trimmed in black and red. Maureen also modeled a cotton blend warm up suit that generated a great deal of interest. This patriotic navy suit boasted bold v^cal red and white stripes down one side of the front and equally bold white stars on a navy t^kground on the other. Talbot’s Kids was the cd-host of New storage units offer climate control the children’s fashion show and dressed Kids Club members in numerous adorable spring and sum mer outfits. Molly Jewell pranced down the runway in a double-hemmed chif fon shift with an ecru-colored back ground and large mmive roses. Two-year-old Billy Jewell may very well have stolen the show as the youngest model of the day. He wowed the audience in his golf length khaki shorts, creamy white polo shirt and matching knit vest And did you hear about that little Austin Oates? She...wore...an... itsby, bitsy, teeny weeny, multi colored floral bikini. Like everyone else, she was a big bit on this day at Prestonwood. A state-of-the-art storage facility with 367 units set on four acres has opened at Morrisville Commons, a new retail center at Morrisville Parkway and N.C. 54 where eight retail shops will be located as well as an Amoco gas station and con venience store. The storage faciUty is called Mr. Store It, and according to resident manager George Horvath, offers climate-controlled units with indi vidual state-of-the-ai't security alarms, caqieting, fenced property and a fffop^y manager on site day and night. Storage units range from 5- by lb-feet to 10- by 30-feet. The ownea- is Jim Rice Develop ment Inc. of Myrtle Beach, S.C. Horvath said the site was chosen because of growth prospects in the area and Morrisville’s central loca tion. Other company locations are in Greenville, Wilmington, Char lotte and Myrtle Beach. Facilities to ship out and receive bulk packages will be available to the public, he said. In addition to the storage facility and convenience store and gas sta tion, other businesses c^n now in clude Village Cleaners, Smash Hit Subs and Hot Stuff Pizza. Negotia tions are taking place for prospec tive tenants at the other 10,000- square-foot retail store locations in the center, according to Woody Byrd of The Properties Group Inc., which is handling the project. Byrd is also involved in another project in Preston: a 10,000-square- foot medical building planned along the jwoposed extension of Cary Parkway, north of High House Road. "It is a little premature for details," Byrd said, "but the pro posed building will be owned by several doctors." The harsh winter allowed con struction on a new office building overlooking the golf course at Prestonwood Country Club, but preliminary leasing is being ac cepted thwe, Byrd said. The build ing is part of seven buildings set for a 12-acre site behind Jasper’s Restaurant and First Citizens Bank. The location for the building abuts The Highlands course, but is buffered from the course by a 50- to 70-foot-wide swath of wood lands. GARNER UAASIDE FERNITIJRE We’re Here!
