Trophies were given to all of the
players in the T-Ball, Pee Wee and
Ro^e baseball leagues, spcxistxed
by the Morrisville Parks, Recrea
tion and Cultural Resources De
partment this summer, but they
weren’t for winning, hitting or
fielding. They were for learning
teamwork and fundamentals.
"This was strictly an instructional
program," said Jimmy E. Huggins,
assistant director of the department
"We don’t even post game scores.
Our objective is to not only teach
the fundamentals of the game, but
to stress teamwork and fair play."
Director Alan Carroll explained
that all of those who took part were
given T-shins and caps. T-Ball was
for 5 and 6 year olds, Pee Wee
League for those 7 and 8, and
RoAie League for 9 and 10 year
olds.
