Ours is a heritage to be proud of, Down through the centuries our fore fathers have fought for freedom’s cause. As young Americans, it will soon be our job to carry the burden of freedom, the hope of the world. It will not be an easy task. Many hardships and much bloodshed have brought the United States to the posi tion it holds today. Many factions have sought to destroy what we have built, the latest being Communism, It is our task to guard against in filtration of Russian propoganda. How ever, we should be proud of this privi lege. On this Thanksgiving, let us pause for a moment in humility and sincerity and thank God for our land and country, for progressive educa tion, and for democracy. We must be gin to accept our responsibilities now. By education, participating in civic duties, working on state projects, and developing international understand ing, we may keep freedom’s bells ring ing through the ages. Editor EDITORIAL The appearance of the school build ing and grounds is a responsibility of every one of us. The new lawn out front has made a great improvement, so we must keep it as clean as possible. By putting candy wrappers and fruit peels in waste containers and by using the new walks which have been provided for us, we can all do our parts in improving the looks of the school grounds and hallways. There is yet another way in which we can help, and that is by not marring our desks and tables with pencils and compasses, or leaving papers and gum inside them. Let’s all get to work and do our parts to have a cleaner and better looking schoolI Barbara Parrish THANKSGIVING HOLIDAYS School will close for the Thanks giving holidays on Wednesday, November 23, at 2.*30.
