( ■r.:j :-y Jli GlEE ni.im AMD BAMD COMCERT On Sunday, December 12, the §lee club snd band of Smit-hfield High School presented a concert in the gym featuring a pantomine of the Christmas story. Those talcing part in the panto- Qiine were Mary, Marika Themis^ Joseph,^ Dave Godwinj Angels, Barai Barry, Barbie Taylor, Marilyn Woodard, Susan Knott, Peggy Deesej Shepherds, Tommy Lassiter, Steve Parrish, Larry Kimballj Kings, Jim Sellers, Jerry Pernell, and Tim Creech. Billy Oliver narrated the story With the band and gle© club providing ciusic as the background. Featured members of the glee club were Sandra Allen and Wendy Sanders singing "Away in a Manger , and Dora Vick Stephenson singing "0 Holy Night". The band played three numbers: Themes from The Nutcrackg;—Suite, “The Chmstmas Party", and "The Christmas Song". The Girls* Glee Club sang "Hallelujah Chorus","le Shall Feed His Plock", "Christinas Rose", "Carol of the Drum", "Do lou Hear What 1 Hear?" and "Twelve Ihys of Christmas". The ninth grade mixed chorus sang "Break Forth, 0 Beauteous Light", " A Child Is Born in Bethlehem", and "Carol Of tte Bells". The program was concluded wit h the audience joining in the singing of "Joy to the"World". Piano accompanists were Gloria Little, Joan Shall cross, Donna Burgess, Frances Aycock, Rhonda McLean, Rebecca Talton, and Craig Barbour for the glee club and ^ecky Wright for the band. Directors: Band: Mr. Lee Rogers CUee Club: Mrs. Janice Browning Pantomine: Mrs, Fred Adams Margy Hinnant hunter JOHNSON MUSIC CLUB CHRISTINAS PROGRAM The Hunter Johnson Music Club met December 14, in the Chapel of the First Baptist Church for their Christmas program. The meeting was presided over by the vice president. Ginger Daughtry, The meeting was opened by singing "There*s a Song in the Air", accompanied by Miss Flora Canaday, counselor. Several guests were welcomed and a program of secular and sacred Christmas music was presented under tte direction of Billy Oliver, program chairman.
