Linda Wilson IREDELL CITIZEN Just after sunrise on Saturday mornings at the Thoroughbred Training Center in Davie County, horses neigh anticipating their breakfast. Soon a cloud of dust, created by a succession of horse trailers rolling in for the show, rises from the gravel drive lead ing to the McCashins. Early arrivals get the best spots closest to the water for horses and the Porta-potty for the riders. John and Beth McCashin, owners of Thoroughbred Training Center (TTC), and their children, Sean and Mary, begin their Saturday morning like always with plenty of chores to do. The McCashin’s have hosted over 500 horse shows since 1981 at their 137-acre facil ity. Horse lovers from near and far are familiar with TTC. See Family Tradition on page 8
