Statesville City Council, meeting last
Friday, scrapped their plans to build the
new library on Meeting Street. Alan
Eisele, right, author of a petition, and
Willie Phillips, one of the volunteers who
; helped distributed it, hold the document
with the signatures of 2,000 Statesville
citizens who opposed the site chosen by
the council.
