Continued from previous page Obituaries Z. V. Robinette Jan. 10,1926 - Nov. 26,2003 V. Robinette. Stony Point died at Iredell Memorial Hospital follow ing a period of declining health. He was the son of Walter and Mae Rector Robinette and was retired from Shuford Mills. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Stony Point Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife. Thelma Shatley Robinette and two daugh ters, Carol Cockrell and Diane Dellinger. Funeral services were at Stony Point Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery . Chapman Dorothy Roberts Davis Jan. 11,1943 - Nov. 24, 2003 Dorothy Roberts Davis of Taylorsville died at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born in Caldwell County, she was the daughter of the late Ray Sidney and Violet Roberts Roberts. She was a member of Bethel Advent Christian Church in Draco, but attended Antioch Baptist Church. She was a gradu ate of Oak Hill High School. She was employed by Wal-Mart for 15 years as a sales clerk. Survivors include her husband. Gene Davis; a son. Glenn Ammons: two grandchildren. Maegan Lynn and Ryan Glenn Ammons: a sister. Joyce Greene: a brother. David Roberts: and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at Antioch Baptist Church. Burial was in the Bethel Advent Christian Church at Draco. Alexander Carlton Collins Wilkerson Sept. 3,1955 - Nov. 24. 2003 Carlton Collins Wilkerson of Harmony died at N.C. Baptist Medical Center of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem. Bom in Iredell County, he was a son of the late Floyd Collins Wilkerson and Bertie Morrow Stout who survives. He was a social worker for the Iredell County Department of Social Serv ices. He was a graduate of Appalachian State University and was a mem ber of Mt. Sinai Evangelical Methodist Church where he served as chairman of the board of stew ards. as a discipleship training facilitator, former Sunday school teacher and choir member. He was also a former soccer and baseball coach and a certified lay minister. In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife. Denise Mitchum Wilkerson: two sons. Matthew and Michael Wilkerson; a brother, a sister, two nephews, a niece and father and mother-in-law. Funeral services were conducted at Mt. Sinai Evangelical Methodist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Rcaxis/Harmony Hazel Chatham Lvtton Feb. 4, 1926 - Nov. 24. 2003 Hazel Chatham Lvtton. formerly of Hicks Creek Road, died at the Brian Center. She was bom in Mooresville to the late James and Blanche Nichols Chatham. She w as a retired nursing assistant and a member of Troutman Church of God. She worked at Davis Community Hospital for 14 years. Survivors are her husband. Pinkney Davis Lvtton. Jr., and a daughter. Melba Lytton Law. Funeral services were held at Troutman Church of God and bur ial was in Iredell Memorial Gardens. Bunch-Johnson Carol Sue Elliott Nov. 14.1944 - Nov. 24,2003 Carol Sue Elliott of Sherrill's Ford died at the home of her parents in Statesville. Bora in Statesville, she was the daughter of Grady and Margaret Everidge. She was a graduate of Statesville High School and attended Mitchell Community College and Lenior-Rhyne College. She was a member of Pressly Memorial ARP Church and owner/operator of ESP. LLC. Her husband. James Ernest Elliott. Sr., preceded her in death. In addition to her parents, survivors include a son. James Ernest Elliott. Jr.; and a daughter. Kimberly Dawn Elliott Thompson. Memorial services were conducted at Olivet Baptist Church. Private family graveside services will be held at a later date at Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery . Bunch-Johnson Faye Rives Benton ‘ Nov. 22, 2003 Faye Rives Benton of Johnson City. Tenn.. died at her residence. A native of Statesville, she was the daughter of the late Augustus and Eloise Patterson Rives. She was a graduate of Statesv ille High School and George Washington University. Washington. DC. She taught home economics in Forsyth County Schools. Her husband. R. Rutland Benton, preceded her in death. Survivors include a son. Robert R. Benton: a daughter. Margaret Eargle: a sister. Eloise Renegar. six grand children. several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephew s. Graveside funeral services were conducted at Oakwood Cemetery.
