Array of Musicians to Perform at Spring Sensation mis_u Marissa Ireland Marcus Ireland I Susan McLain Pierre Brau-Arnauth and Gay Tatman Natasha Kinney An array of musicians will perform at the “Spring Sensation” musicale at First Presbyterian Church Saturday, May 22, beginning at 7 p.m. The event is hosted by and will benefit Yokefellow Ministries. Highlights of the event include performances by Sue McLain, who has played in Carnegie Hall in New York; flutist Natasha Kinney, the former Miss Statesville; vocal ist Jeanne Day, who will sing pop ular numbers; and Keith Rasmussen, performing on the organ. Also performing in this musical variety show will be vocalist Celeste Gaither singing Suddenly Seymour, The Top 40 trio of Marie Speece, Gerri White and Wanona Van Hoy; ministers Aaron and Judith Fulp-Erckstaedt singing love songs; and Marissa Ireland, Miss North Iredell, accompanied by Mark Ireland on guitar. As if that weren’t variety enough, the show goes on with Kathryn Holland singing numbers from Phantom of the Opera; opera selections rendered by Rubye Summers; oboe selections by Dirk Robertson; and piano selections by Dr. Dwayne Robertson. Still the list isn’t complete and string selections abound. James Gentry will sing and play the gui tar; Cara Udy will play the violin; Lisa Defore and Kathy Everhart will present religious selections. Also, Pal and Miles Ireland of the Cook Shack, accompanied by gui tars, fiddle and banjo, will play. Marcus Ireland will also play gui tar. Bustle Grant, with gospel num bers; flutist Gay Tatman with sev eral selections; and troubadour Pierre Brau-Amauty, an ambassa dor of bluegrass music in his native country, France and the Euro-community, round out the evening. Accompanists include Dr. “Rob” Robertson, Mark Ireland, Gerri White, Jerome Morris, Emily Ervin, Iris Mayberry and Bea Elliott. Admission is free and all donations will benefit Yokefellow. Dennis Tomlin is the new Yokefellow director. Linda McAuley is the 2004 Yokefellow president.
