IREDELL CITIZEN
Hear ye! Hear ye! All ladies
and lords, paupers and pirates. If
you wish to eat drink and be mer
rie, the Carolina Renaissance
Festival is for you.
Before checking out the glass
blower show or watching Tortuga
Twins, or even before trying out
the pirates’ assault catapult, you
might want to visit the jousting
tournament in the king’s arena or
ride a camel.
Of course, if you get hungry your
first stop might be the Lancers
Pub, the Kings Kitchen or the
Monk’s Bakery. Or you might
rather gnaw on the turkey leg or
eat chocolate; it’s all up to the
individual peasant.
There is something for everyone;
this is for sure. Mother Goose is
there with her real geese that will
give you a goose hug. There are
shows of many types and activi
ties that may leave you needing to
wet your whistle at the Tudor
Rose Pub with a pumpkin beer.
If it’s a faerie or a knight, who sings
or fights, you will find them here.
The 11th Annual Carolina
Renaissance Festival and Artisan
Marketplace is happening every
Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m.
-5:30 p.m. through Nov., 14. For
more information, call 704- 896
5544 or visit www.roalfaires.com.
