Warm, spring-like weather
brought a short-sleeve crowd to
the Statesville Civic Center for the
recent 2007 Statesville Business
Show.
The warm weather filtered into the
Center where travel agents were
handing out brochures to far off
tropical islands. Local travel agency
Cruise Planners even provided leis
to add tropical ambiance.
For those who didn’t want to go so
far away to spend time outdoors,
Terrell Sharpe of Grilling Solutions,
Inc. showed off The Roasting Can,
his patent-pending invention. “The
Roasting Can is a complete cooker
for tailgaters, outdoors campers
and homeowners. It’s lightweight,
portable, with little mess,” he said.
The Roasting Can might prove
handy on a fishing trip, too,
and Richard Griggs of Carolina
Mountain Sports had all the
necessary information on bait,
tackle and fishing poles.
But for those who don’t want to
actually meet and greet their dinner
in the great outdoors, there were
plenty of restaurants represented
with food samples. If you ate way
too much there were even nurses
from local hospitals who could
tend to you.
The business show also had
numerous investors, pool dealers,
banks, realtors, community-based
organizations and locally owned
business.
