G.L. Wilson Building Company Honors Employees ___* Ed Lippard, right, receives the first annual Ed Lippard Outstanding Employee Award from Tom Wilson, president, G.L. Wilson Building Company. Statesville- G.L. Wilson Building Company honored 30 employees with service awards on Saturday, April 28. The event, held at company headquarters, 190 Wilson Park Road in Statesville, included a seafood dinner, archery contest, pony rides, and volleyball games. G.L. Wilson, founded in 1945 by the late Gordon L. Wilson employs 110 people. Thirty celebrated 20 years of service or more. In addition, the company awarded Ed Lippard, celebrating 61 years of service, with the first annual Ed Lippard Outstanding Employee Award. The award recognizes integrity, leadership and outstanding performance. This year a $10,000 donation will be made in Mr. Lippard’s honor to Fifth Street Ministries for their new building. Service award recipients included Jackie Moore, 20 years; Robert Yonce, 20 years; David Stroud, 21 years; Charles Walsh, 21 years; Alex Rosecrans, 22 years; Ed Bowman, 23 years; Joann Flummer, 23 years; John Torrance, 23 years; Jack Creasy, 25 years; Clark Mason, 25 years; John Bell, 26 years; Clyde Gurley, 26 years; Nathan Hill, 26 Citizens for Troutman Library Holds Meeting Citizens for the Troutman Library will have their monthly meeting Monday, May 14, at 7 p.m. at the Troutman Town Office on Eastway Drive. Visitors are welcome. A major upcoming event is a golf tournament scheduled Saturday, June 16, in Mooresville. This will be a four-person, Captain’s Choice i tournament. Two hole in one contests < are planned with each paying $5,000. There will also be a putting contest. Players and sponsors are needed. Businesses can sponsor holes for !>100.
