Contestants Announced for 2008 Miss Statesville Pageant Sarah White Rebecca Fulghum Emily Polk Katie Cook Marissa Ireland Holland Felts Chelsea Everidge Amanda Jackson Nine contestants will vie for honors and scholarships at the 2008 Miss Statesville Pageant at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at North Iredell High School. Tennille Kilby Cates, a former resident of Iredell County and titleholder of the Miss America Program, will be Mistress of Ceremonies. The nine contestants are: Sarah Frances White, 19, of Mooresville the daughter of Brian and Elizabeth White; Rebecca Charles Fulghum, 20, of Statesville, daughter of Dr. Edwin and Jan Fulghum; Emily Danielle Polk, 19, Statesville, daughter of Johnny and Iris Polk. Also, Kaitlan Nichole Cook, 17, Statesville, daughter of Robin M. Cook and Marsha P. Tomlin; Marissa Ann Ireland, 19, Statesville, daughter of Mark and Marcia Ireland; Holland Felts, 18, Statesville, daughter of Dr. Rick Felts and Lisa Petrozza. Also, Caitlin Rebecca Brawner, 21, Statesville, daughter of Larry and Rebecca Slone; Chelsea Marie r Everidge, 19, Statesville, daughter of Scott and Ann Everidge; Amanda Hope Jackson, 22, Statesville, daughter of Randall Jackson and Erica Walser. This year’s entertainment will be provided by Jessica Marshall, Miss Statesville 2007; Whitney James, Miss Mecklenburg County; Brittany Chambers, Miss Statesville Outstanding Teen; Mary Charles Lippard, Statesville’s Carolina Princess; Miss Cates and other special entertainers. Over $8,000 in scholarship monies will be distributed this year, with the winner receiving over $3,750. In addition, each young lady will receive $ 150 for being a participant. The scholarship monies and other facets of the scholarship program are made thanks to local businesses that have contributed over $60,000 during the past nine years. Tickets can be bought from any contestant, Paulette’s Beauty Bazaar or by calling Danny Davis at 704-873-2736. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
