Linda Fisher Poss and Reverend
S. Wesley Sharpe of Asheville
were married January 12,
2008, at Homewood in Historic
Monford of Asheville. The
Reverend William Haire of
Nashville officiated the 11 a.m.
ceremony.
The bride is the daughter
of Henry and Lee Fisher of
Asheville. The groom is the
son of Clyde Samuel and Marie
Sharpe of Statesville.
The bride is a business analyst
for Mission Children’s Hospital
in Asheville. The groom serves
as pastor of Higgins Memorial
United Methodist Church
in Burnsville, NC, and has
a psychotherapy practice in
Asheville.
Aluncheon hosted by the groom’s
parents followed the ceremony.
A reception and dance that
evening was held at Homewood
and music for the wedding was
performed by harpist Donna
Germano. Premier Sound and
Light provided the music for the
dance.
The couple honeymooned in St.
John, U.S. Virgin Islands. They
reside in Asheville.
Series of Genealogy Workshops Scheduled
A five-session workshop in basic
genealogy will begin on Saturday,
March 1, from 9:30 - 11:30
a,in- in the History Room at the
Yadkin County Public Library
in Yadkinville. Participants will
learn how to begin the study of
their family history or continue
the research they have started,
and receive an orientation to the
information available in the History
Room.
On Saturday, March 8,9:30 -11:30
a.m., the group will meet in the
History Room at the Yadkin County
Public Library to do research in the
NC and US Census records.
On Monday, March 17, 5 - 7 p.m.
the group will meet at the Yadkin
County Register of Deeds Office
in the courthouse for an orientation
and research.
On Friday, March 28, 3 - 5 p.m.,
the group will meet at the Yadkin
County Clerk of Court’s Office in
the courthouse for an orientation
and research.

Girl Scout Council Needs Volunteers
Hickory- The Girl Scout Council
of the Catawba Valley Area requests
volunteers to help prepare Camp
Ginger Cascades for upcoming
spring and summer events. “Fix It,
Paint It, Clean It” Camp WorkDay
is scheduled for Saturday, March
29, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at
Camp Ginger Cascades in Caldwell
County.
Civic groups, individuals, families,
and teenagers are needed to do
simple construction projects, paint
buildings, maintain trails and clean
and set up platform tents. Lunch
will be provided on Saturday noon.

volunteers to prepare the camp for
spring events and summer camp”
says Skip Mosher, Camp ranger.

The camp serves girls from seven
