Carolina Angels Win Championship

The Carolina Angels 13U
Basketball team of Mooresville
won the Championship recently for
their age group in the Lake Norman
Invitational Tournament. The
event was hosted by the Wizards
and Magic YBOA Organizations
based out of Huntersville. The
Mooresville ladies lost their
first game to neighboring Lake
Norman Magic by more than 20
points on Friday but recovered to
be crowned the champions of the
nine teams in the ladies 13U team
said, “To completely turn around
the tournament performance after a
first round loss in which we were
disorganized and disheartened and
then win five straight, beating the
number one seeds from both the
other pools, took a great effort
and showed tremendous heart. We
had players making threes, going
hard to the basket, converting free
throws and playing great individual
and help defense.”
Other ladies teams in the
13U competition include the
Rockingham Xplosion, Monroe
Select, Carolina Heat, Surry Storm,
Cabarrus Nuggets, Stokes Stealth
and Salisbury Stingz.
